French, Circa 1900, bearing a signature Jacob Desmalter.
The rectangular malachite top within a bronze border, above a malachite frieze mounted with stylized leaf-tips, raised on caryatid supports with a stretcher supporting an urn flanked by winged sphinxes. 

After the celebrated model by Jacob-Desmalter for the bedroom of Caroline Murat at the l'Elysee Palace, now at the Grand Trianon, Versailles.
